We are family owned & operated with great ties to our community. Formerly started as in 1976, a franchise of a national muffler & brake chain, we specialized in exhaust and brake service and were quickly known for our reputable owners, service technicians, and our quality work.

Our first store opened in 1976 as a four bay shop on the corner of Harrison & Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa, just before NorthPark Mall was built. We started out with muffler & exhaust systems, oil changes, and brake service.

In 1981, we opened our second location, in Bettendorf, Iowa at the corner of State Street & Devil’s Glen. We had done so well, that we climbed to the top of ’s charts in sales, customer service, and customer feedback. At the time, we started out with only 4 bays. We needed to expand, so in 2005, we added an addition of four bays. One of our bays is large enough to handle a full size RV or bus, while some of our other bays accommodate full size, heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

In 1996, we built two stores at the same time. We relocated our first shop just 200 feet away into a Brand New 8 bay shop, and we opened our third store, this one located in Moline, Illinois, at the corner of 38th Avenue & 27th Street, one block east of Fareway. Our Moline store has 6 large bays to accommodate most vehicles. Our customers have appreciated having another location that is convenient for them.

While we enjoyed being a franchise, we realized in 2006 that the opportunity was right to leave the franchise and change our name, to QC Auto Service. We have come along way since 1976.
